Prestige Recruiting Solutions has partnered with our client to recruit for a Human Resources Manager based in Oakville, ON. Our client is a rapidly growing, global company providing specialized IT solutions for the healthcare sector.

What you’ll do

Employee & Organizational Support

  • Provide a level of customer service that emphasizes accessibility, integrity, trustworthiness, confidentiality, respect and dignity as well as ensure fair and equal treatment of all employees. Engage employees and reinforce operational focus through personal availability, one-on-one and team discussion.
  • Work with Corporate Human Resources and divisional management to support Human Resources with a wide variety of activities,
  • Liaise with HR Professionals network,
  • Foster frequent, effective communication to ensure understanding, engagement and knowledge of company programs, progress and overall integration of associates to company business.

Talent Acquisition & Management

  • Lead talent acquisition, conduct full cycle recruitment and onboarding, engage the hiring managers in the process,
  • Support full onboarding, completion of onboarding documentation, training of new associate in relevant systems and processes,
  • Assist with employee development, performance management and succession planning. Perform needs assessments, design instruction, facilitate performance management and assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Facilitate the alignment of associate development and KPIs to business strategy, vision and goals,
  • Review and recommend programs to encourage retention and recognition of high impact performers.

Performance Management

  • Support management in endeavors to engage, train and guide employee performance,
  • Assist with employee relation issues, performance re-direction programs and terminations – provides counsel to employees and management,
  • Develop performance management programs and support management and team in the implementation of effective programs, assessment, feedback and maintains training and feedback cycles,
  • In conjunction with senior management, identify career development and succession planning.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Conduct market research to understand industry competitive pay practices
  • Participate with management in the review of compensation (cash/non-cash) and performance incentive programs
  • Responsible for benefits & retirement plan administration and assist plan negotiations.
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

HR Administration & Reporting

  • Prepare HR and management documentation, maintain accurate employee files, electronic records and documentation. Support payroll administration, time-to-project / attendance tracking,
  • Ensure understanding and follow up on completion of HR forms and benefits explanations. Review and prepare government required reporting documents,
  • Develop Job Descriptions and manage the process of maintaining regular review and updating,
  • Provide relevant metrics reporting to senior management with respect to associate performance, recruitment, accomplishment, as may be requested.

Policy & Procedure

  • Develop relevant policies and processes, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of relevant employment legislation and safety requirements,
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of employment legislation in all areas of operation.

Health & Safety

  • Manage and participate in the JH&SC ensuring employee knowledge, training, regular inspections and reinforces importance of onsite safety at client sites,
  • First Aid trained with current valid certification
  • Manage all disability and return to work programs

Who you are…

Education

  • Relevant HR education and certification (CHRP or CHRL)

Experience

  • 5+ years Human Resources Management experience as a Generalist,
  • Possess a broad understanding of employment legislation in Ontario,
  • People management experience preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of employment law, effective employee management practices and Health & Safety requirements,

  • Maintains confidentiality and privacy in associate interactions, communication, and document management,

  • Can analyze methods and procedures, recommend and implement improvements,
  • Strong organizational and time management skills – able to prioritize effectively,
  • Able to be resourceful and anticipate the teams/business needs,
  • Effective people management skills, with only indirect people management required at this time.

Software Application and Technical Knowledge

  • Proficient with Microsoft – Office Professional, SharePoint, Visio, MS Project, etc.
  • Proficient with other HR supportive software and HRIS programs.
